Join us for Fun Fur Fridays this fall

During the month of October students can sign up for Fun Fur Fridays, a brand new virtual program for friends of animals in grades K-12.

Each week a different animal or group of animals will be front and center on your computer screen. Meet cats and dogs temporarily residing in HRA’s fabulous foster homes—and animals living their best lives in their forever homes will drop by, too! Fun Fur Fridays is not just cats and dogs.  Other animals including bunnies, hamsters, and guinea pigs will also be featured. You never know who will stop by for a virtual meet and greet. Get all of your animal questions answered on Fun Fur Fridays at 4:00 p.m. ET beginning October 16.

Space is limited. Students eager to close out the school week with a smile or a giggle won’t want to miss Fun Fur Fridays.

NEW virtual program for middle and high school students

Middle and high school students interested in learning more about HRA’s work in the community are invited to participate in a virtual animal welfare exploration. Students demonstrating Passion, Engagement, Advocacy, & Kindness (SPEAK) encourages students to find ways to help the animals safely from home. During a series of three, 90 minute online workshops, students will have an opportunity to chat with key HRA staff and others who support animals in our community. Students learn about HRA, the animals in our care, and explore ways to help the animals through projects that may include promoting adoptions through social media and creating fund-raising opportunities and awareness campaigns. SPEAK participants who complete the program become more confident animal advocates ready and able to speak up for animals and help them in myriad ways.

Register here for the November 5, November 12, and november 19 SPEAK workshops.

The cost for the SPEAK series is $25. However, no student will be denied access to participate because of inability to pay. For information on financial assistance, please contact [email protected].
