Dr. Penny Coder is the Vice President of Medicine at the Humane Rescue Alliance. She leads the Shelter Medicine department and oversees Community Medicine initiatives in DC.

Dr. Coder graduated veterinary school from the University of Missouri in 2014. Prior to joining HRA, she specialized in high-quality, high-volume surgery and expanding access to veterinary care in underserved communities in North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. She came to HRA as a staff veterinarian before becoming the Vice President of Medicine.
