We are excited to announce the launch of virtual adoption services. From the comfort of your home you can select an animal, set up a virtual meet-and-greet, and even conduct an adoption counseling session.
Our traditional adoption centers are temporarily closed, but we are very much open for adoptions. We have many wonderful animals waiting to meet you.
Find an animal you are interested in by searching our online database at humanerescuealliance.org/adopt. Adoptable animals are viewable online, in real time.
Using the contact information located in the animal’s online bio, email the foster parent directly for more information about the animal and to set up an opportunity to meet the animal virtually.
Due to efforts to lessen the impact of COVID-19, HRA is not able to accommodate in-person meet and greets with potential adopters or their resident animals.
For those interested in moving forward with adoption, a link to an online adoption questionnaire will be shared. Online adoption questionnaires are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Once received, an HRA adoptions counselor will reach out as soon as possible to schedule a remote counseling session.
All adoption counseling will occur virtually, either by phone or video call. During the virtual counseling session, an HRA staff member will review important background about the animal–including all medical and behavioral information we have on record. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and discuss considerations to have when welcoming your newest family member into your home. We ask that you be prepared to bring home your pet within 24-48 hours of your counseling session.
Once counseling is complete, coordinate with the foster or HRA adoptions staff on a mutually agreed upon time and place for pickup of the animal. Please bring an appropriate means of transporting your animal to your home while working to adhere to safe social distancing protocols.
We'll send fresh, amazing content straight to your inbox so you can keep a pulse on your animal community.
