The Humane Rescue Alliance is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in a case of alleged animal cruelty in which a cat was shot in the face with a blow dart.
On Jan. 16, animal control officers from HRA located an injured cat on the 3200 Block of D Street SE.
Upon examination, HRA’s medical team discovered the cat, an orange, domestic shorthair named Cliff, had a blow dart lodged in his eye.
Cliff was transferred to Friendship Hospital for Animals for emergency medical care, where veterinarians removed the dart without any major issues. Cliff is doing well and recovering in HRA’s care.
HRA desperately needs the community’s help for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this horrific act of animal cruelty and is offering a $5,000 reward for anyone who provides such information.
