This week, Washington, DC – area’s passionate cat lovers will hear the news they have been waiting for: Meow DC, the first large cat event of its kind in the DC metropolitan area, will take place Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Dock 5/Union Market in Washington. This unique event will provide area cat enthusiasts with an outlet for EVERYTHING cat-related, including exhibitor booths, merchandise, giveaways, demonstrations, behaviorists and veterinarians; and, of course, adoptable cats! All of this fantastic feline fun under one roof! And all for a great cause – to benefit the animals, programs, and services of the Humane Rescue Alliance.
“Many big cities have large-scale events celebrating cats,” said Lisa LaFontaine, President and CEO of the Humane Rescue Alliance. “It’s time for the nation’s capital to join in the celebration. Bring your cat ears because that weekend, DC will all be about cats.”
From exhibitor booths and adoptable animals to demonstrations and free giveaways, guests will walk away from the event feeling fulfilled about their love for cats. Not only will Meow DC cater to the area’s ever-growing population of cat lovers, but it will support HRA's vital programs and services that provide care to our community animals. Unlike other large events with similar missions, 100 percent of proceeds from this fundraising event will support the many programs and services provided by HRA to the community.
Exhibitor booths will include merchandise for cat enthusiasts who enjoy showcasing their love of cats in a fashionable way, cat-themed activities, educational demonstrations, and more! HRA, in partnership with other local animal welfare organizations, will be onsite with mobile adoption vehicles throughout the day for a large-scale cat adoption event.
Tickets to Meow DC are $40. The first 200 people to purchase tickets by Dec. 31, 2018 will receive a commemorative Meow DC bag, so act now and make your cat dreams come true!
