The Humane Rescue Alliance is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person or persons involved in a horrific case of alleged animal cruelty.
On the morning of Jan. 3, Humane Law Enforcement Officers with HRA responded to the area of Fort Davis Dr. and Massachusetts Ave. SE after reports of a deceased male Rottweiler. The dog was found wrapped in a children’s blanket and was wearing a leather collar with a gold buckle. He was extremely underweight and had a large wound on his front right leg.
HRA is looking for anyone who may have noticed anything unusual in the hours and days leading up to the morning of Jan. 3 near the area of Fort Davis Dr. and Massachusetts Ave. SE, and is seeking information regarding the source of the dog’s injuries or the address where he may have resided. “Our officers are determined to seek justice for this dog, but we need help from the community to do so,” said Chris Schindler, Vice President of Field Services at the Humane Rescue Alliance. “We hope this reward will motivate any witnesses or others with information about this crime to come forward as soon as possible.”
