The Humane Rescue Alliance is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in a case of alleged animal cruelty.
In the early morning hours of April 4, 2020, Animal Control officers with HRA found an injured male boxer mix, named Mickey, lying in shrubbery in the area of 21 Atlantic Street SW. Officers rushed the dog to an emergency veterinarian, who determined Mickey had multiple broken ribs and problems breathing due to the physical abuse he suffered.
Humane Law Enforcement officers with HRA desperately need the help of our community for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this horrific act of animal cruelty and is offering a $5,000 reward for such information.
HRA is looking for anyone who may have noticed anything unusual in the area of 21 Atlantic Street SW in the early morning hours of April 4, anyone who recognizes the dog, and information about the person or persons responsible for the animal’s injuries. “It’s heartbreaking to imagine the pain this dog endured at the hands of his abuser,” said Chris Schindler, vice president of field services at the Humane Rescue Alliance. “We’re hopeful our reward will help our officers gather useful information in solving this case to bring justice for Mickey.”
