Did you know the Humane Rescue Alliance field services team plays an important role on Inauguration Day? Our animal control officers worked closely with the Department of Health’s Animal Services Program to check all documentation, including current health certificates for the more than 200 horses that participated in the inaugural parade. Together, with District veterinarians, the team ensured all horses were healthy and fit to participate.
During the inauguration, members of the HRA field services team were inside the secured perimeter ready to care for any sick or injured animal, including wildlife. Additionally, our animal control officers had a presence in every quadrant, enabling us to respond quickly and safely to all animal-related calls and emergencies. Thank you to our entire field services team for their diligent work to keep the animals of the city and the inauguration safe.
