The Humane Rescue Alliance would like to thank our friends and supporters for their tremendous and generous outpouring of support over the weekend. Our New York Avenue facility suffered flooding in some of our dog kennels, forcing us to move the dogs from those particular dens to safe, dry places. Thanks to the outstanding coordination by our entire team, our animals were never in danger and did not suffer any ill-effects from the flooding. However, the water surge caused us to lose a large amount of dog bedding (sheets, blankets and towels). An appeal was made to the public through our social media channels and through the local media, and our friends responded with tremendous generosity! We were overwhelmed with donations of blankets, towels, sheets and other dog bedding.
As you will see from the following photos, our staff is happily organizing our new supplies and we are transporting extra towels, blankets, and bedding to our Oglethorpe Street NW shelter for use and storage. Thanks again for the great support. Our animals appreciate it and so does our team!
A big thank you to HRA board member, Anissa Grossman, and our friends at the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown and Four Season Hotel DC for their generous donation of towels for our pups!
