Becca Stern joined the Humane Rescue Alliance adoptions team through the legacy organization Washington Humane Society shortly after graduating from American University in 2014. Starting as an adoptions counselor gave her direct insight into the day-to-day operations and needs of the department, and she brings this experience to her role as Director of Adoptions. Becca has held a lifelong desire for a career working with animals. Through several months of volunteering at the Dublin SPCA in Dublin, Ireland, she became driven to pursue a path specifically geared toward animal welfare. She lives in DC with her three-year-old "big-head" dog Opie, adopted from HRA's New York Avenue adoption center in 2015. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and playing guitar.
