Emily Miller began her career with the Humane Rescue Alliance in 2010 as a Special Events Manager for the former Washington Humane Society. At that time, there was one events manager but due to the success of the organization’s ever-growing special events Emily was promoted to Director and now manages a team of two other events staff.Emily came to HRA with ten years of professional event management experience. Prior to joining the team, she specialized in corporate events management as an Event Marketing Manager at VeriSign, a technology company in Dulles, Virginia, where she produced a variety of events, from tradeshows and conferences to staff meetings and special events. Emily also consulted for Capital Meeting Planning where she produced a road show that included a series of high-level executive meetings for the Council on Environmental Quality, which is a division of the Executive Office of the President.Emily attended George Mason University and received her Event Management Certificate from The George Washington University. Emily has always loved animals and currently has three cats of her own: Dirty, Peeper, and Penny. Emily says, “Working at the Humane Rescue Alliance has given me the ability to do what I love for those that I love – the animals. It’s the best feeling!” Outside of work, she enjoys cooking while listening to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
