Three Dogs Rescued from Suspected Organized Dogfighting in SE DC

A Humane Rescue Alliance investigation into suspected organized dogfighting in SE DC led to the rescue of two adult dogs and one puppy on Oct. 9 under a search and seizure warrant obtained by HRA Humane Law Enforcement Officers.   The investigation began following a tip about an individual who was allegedly engaged in selling puppies with the intent to fight. Feline Survivors of Humane Society of Grand Bahama Flooding Arrive in New Jersey

More than 80 cats who survived the devastating flooding at the Humane Society of Grand Bahama that killed about 100 shelter pets following Hurricane Dorian arrived in New Jersey on Wednesday evening. Wings of Rescue flew the cats from the Bahamas to the Morristown Municipal Airport, where staff from St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, a part of the Humane Rescue Alliance, met them. Humane Rescue Alliance contributes $2,500 to reward fund for dog intentionally set on fire in a Virginia park

The person accused of killing a dog, who rescuers named Tommie , by intentionally setting him on fire pleaded guilty Wednesday in Richmond Circuit Court to one count of felony animal cruelty. Jyahshua A. Hill, 20, was sentenced to five years in prison (the maximum for animal cruelty) with no option for parole, an additional three years of supervision, and a lifetime ban on owning animals. Six Cats Rescued from Unsanitary Conditions in NW DC

A Humane Rescue Alliance investigation into suspected animal cruelty in NW DC led to the rescue of six cats today under a search and seizure warrant obtained by HRA Humane Law Enforcement Officers.
