Three Dogs Rescued from Suspected Organized Dogfighting in SE DC

A Humane Rescue Alliance investigation into suspected organized dogfighting in SE DC led to the rescue of two adult dogs and one puppy on Oct. 9 under a search and seizure warrant obtained by HRA Humane Law Enforcement Officers.

The investigation began following a tip about an individual who was allegedly engaged in selling puppies with the intent to fight. HRA received several similar tips over the course of the investigation.

“Combating animal fighting is a job we take very seriously, and stopping this barbaric activity requires assistance from the public,” said Chris Schindler, Vice President of Field Services at the Humane Rescue Alliance. “The rescue of these three dogs would not have been possible without the eyes and ears of the caring people in our community.”

The case remains under investigation, and the dogs are in the care of HRA at an undisclosed location.
