Puppies Rescued from South Korean Dog Meat Farm Arrive at HRA

Puppies rescued from South Korean dog meat farm

Two dogs rescued from a dog meat farm in Wonju, South Korea arrived at the Humane Rescue Alliance this afternoon. The 9-week-old puppies, Gandalf and Molly, were part of a group of dogs rescued and transported by Humane Society International (HSI) to the United States for rehoming. Gandalf and Molly started their lives in some of the worst conditions imaginable, and we’re thrilled to help them begin their new lives here in DC.

HSI has rescued 200 dogs in recent days and is transporting them to the United States, Canada and the UK for rehoming. This is the sixth dog meat farm closure in South Korea managed by HSI, with a total of 770 dogs rescued since January 2015 as part of the organization’s campaign to end the dog meat trade in South Korea and across Asia.

The Humane Rescue Alliance is proud to support this work as part of the Humane Society of the United States’ Emergency Placement Partner program.
