HRA Humane Education Students Show Their Soft Side

HRA’s Humane Education program reached 2,700 youngsters in 2017, including these kind young men from Whittier Educational Campus. They are part of an after school group learning about kindness through animal interactions and educational talks. When Show Your Soft Side sent posters featuring their idols -- athletes like New England Patriots’ Lawrence Guy, New Orleans Saints’ Senio Kelemete, and Baltimore Ravens’ Ryan Jensen and Ronnie Stanley -- the boys were inspired to create their own.

HRA’s Director of Humane Education, Debbie Duel, got to work and arranged for the kids to come to the Humane Rescue Alliance to have their photos taken with adoptable animals. Using those photos, the boys created their own educational posters, including HRA's animal emergency phone number and information, and hung them around their school. We are so proud to be involved in the cultivation of kindness in one of the community’s youngest populations!
