HRA Partners with VA Rescue Group and Takes in Dogs Kept Outside Tethered to Chains Their Entire Lives

The Humane Rescue Alliance welcomed two dogs from Virginia who have spent their lives on the end of a chain today. Eddie is from Greene County and Hammer is from Augusta County. With the help of Dogs Deserve Better-Blue Ridge , a rescue group serving that area, Eddie and Hammer were surrendered and freed from their chains and have an opportunity for a new beginning at HRA in time for the new year. HRA Humane Law Enforcement Combats Multiple Cases of Animal Cruelty this Week

This week, DC resident Zahir Reeder was found guilty of cruelty to animals following a case that lasted almost two years. NW DC Woman Arrested for Cruelty to Animals

Maria Helena Dias of Washington, DC, was arrested Monday by the Metropolitan Police Department and charged with seven counts of cruelty to animals following an investigation by Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) humane law enforcement officers. The Humane Rescue Alliance Humane Law Enforcement and Animal Control division has issued the following Extreme Weather Pet Advisory: The Washington, DC region is expected to experience extreme heat this week, with temperatures above 90 degrees. It is imperative that all pet owners provide proper care for pets, as outdoor conditions are not appropriate for companion animals.
