Two Dogs Rescued from Suspected Dogfighting Operation in NE DC

A Humane Rescue Alliance investigation into a suspected dogfighting operation in NE DC led to the rescue of two dogs and the seizure of dogfighting paraphernalia today under a search and seizure warrant obtained by HRA Humane Law Enforcement Officers. At least one of the dogs rescued had wounds consistent with dogfighting. Dogfighting paraphernalia seized from the premises included conditioning equipment, wound care supplies, and supplements. Ten Cats Rescued from Unsanitary Conditions in SE DC

A Humane Rescue Alliance investigation into suspected animal cruelty in SE DC led to the rescue of 10 cats today under a search and seizure warrant obtained by HRA Humane Law Enforcement Officers. Upon entering the residence, HLE Officers found 10 cats living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, including large amounts of feces and urine. Officers also recovered two deceased kittens. Six Dogs Rescued From Unsanitary Conditions After HRA Investigation

A Humane Rescue Alliance investigation into suspected animal cruelty in NE DC led to the rescue of six dogs under a search and seizure warrant obtained by HRA Humane Law Enforcement Officers. Upon entering the residence, HLE Officers found two adult dogs and four puppies confined to crates, one of which was a shipping crate, and living in their own feces and urine. DC Resident Arrested for Animal Cruelty

Deborah Chandler of Washington, DC, was arrested this morning on a warrant obtained by the Humane Rescue Alliance and charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty. On Feb. 18, HRA Humane Law Enforcement Officers executed a search warrant after an investigation initiated by an anonymous caller. The caller requested a welfare check on dogs living in a NW home after never observing them outside.
